EID Mubarak

Today is the last day of Ramadan in Canada for 2008. Tomorrow is EID, so Eid Mubarak to all.
I came to know that in Pakistan they announced quite late for Moonsighting for Eid.
We continue to make ourselves fool and a laughing stock on the behest of un-educated mullahs.
The have no regard to anyones convenience and comfort, just their ego and importance.
In Karachi people packed roads at 1:00 am for last minute shopping, there are so many people who cannot plan ahead.
I wonder if they ever lean the lesson.

Geo did not show any good news like Islamabad Peshwar motorway but instead it showed dead people in Karachi ....they never discuss 5.1 billion dollar of oil refinery in Pakistan instead they showed beheading of Pakistani people, soldiers... never discuss why America is telling Musharaf to take off his uniform ????/why USA is interfering in our business..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why AOL (America Online - Khabro Se Aagey) is telecasted daily?

killing fields of Sindh

A doctor who was educated in USA and was working there on the desires of his dad and for the love of his country moved back to Pakistan.
He started working in a hospital in Mir Pur Khas provding medical help to the communities there.
This doctor was killed in an ambush in broad daylight for no reason, his only crime was that he belonged to a minority community against which Aamir Liaqat was spreading his venom.

Consider a locality has lost a foreign trained doctor who was providing greate service to humanity for the love of his people.

Poor people of Pakistan keep losing their valuable assets due to this religious hatred as if all of the other reasons were not enough.

Another member of the same community was gunned down the next day
The most disturbing thing is that non of the scholars, leaders and wirters condemn these killings. There is a deafening silence on this issue.

Atleast in Indonesia there were writers and leaders who condemned these actions but not in Pakistan.
Lates is that Dr.Aamir Liaqat who in TV programm threw oil on this fire is expelled from MQM.

These sites have tools to compare multiple vehicles.

Car type (car, suv, cuv, truck , van)

Cars are getting very economical, however there prices are going up too, as manufacturers are adding options as standard features.

There are 2 types of SUVs, a car based SUVs and truck based SUVs. Car based SUVs have better fuel ecomony, better in ride, smaller in size and are not made for extreme off roading, only the kind found around big cities.
Truck based SUVs are more rigid and are good for off roading, though bigger engines means more fuel consumption, normally have bigger sizes and more seating capacity.


Some of the economy cars are very good in ride, I once rented a suzuki swift and found the ride was pretty smooth and had a good pickup, another time had a chevy cobalt which is not as good in fuel economy as it should be also the ride was a bit rough on higher speeds.

Cars like civics and corrolla has grown in sizes so much that are almost equal to their bigger cousins of 80s like accords and camry, yet they are far more fuel efficeint.
Hybrids are good but you have to change your driving style to get the hybrid benefits, also in extreme cold situations such as Canada or northern states hybrids are not very effective. As batteries become too cold and take some time to warm up.

Corrolla is considered the most reliable car but it said to be devoid of any character (I don't know about this though0
Civics are really cool looking and have much better responsive engines.
Mazda 3 is really nice cars and are getting very popular as good as civics and corrollas

Lahore Trip

When I last visited Karachi it is so much changed from the one I use to remember only 10 years ago. I did'nt see these changes in the 15 years that I spent there.
Most of the people I met say that there is now much more traffic than these roads can handle. Shops are open late and everyshopowner has to rely on generators.

I think the next big catastrophy to hit karachi would be the electric power unavailability. There has been no planning done for future or was done in the last 15 years for the situation today. Despite all the claims of the politicians no effort is evident from any side.
